Xbox 360 dashboard update adds USB storage capabilities.

The April 6th, 2010 Xbox 360 dashboard update gives users the ability to use USB storage devices on the Xbox 360 to store and transfer data. This includes but is not limited to save data, demos, and videos. A multi-select option was also implemented allowing users to transfer large chunks of data across storage devices with ease.

A USB drive over 1GB in size can be used to store data on. However, the drive must first be formatted by the Xbox 360 before it can be used, if the drive sides exceeds 16GB any remaining space is free for the user to use elsewhere. A total of two USB drives can be used on the Xbox 360 bringing the limit up to 32 GB (16 GB's each). Microsoft will be releasing proprietary performatted USB drives shortly.

Users can download the update simply by turning on their Xbox 360, connecting to Xbox Live and accepting the update prompt.
